Nuenen is an scenic Brabant village that keeps on growing. In order to accommodate the demand for housing, locations within the village as well as on the periphery will be developed. The overall design allows for the phased development of 1500 houses and associated facilities: shops, cafes etc.
The design itself is a modern-day translation of the Brabant esdorp -with great attention paid to scale and atmosphere. This gives rise to two residential typologies: a village-centre with 32 houses per hectare, complete with courtyards and brinkjes. Then there is the rural village area with 10 houses per hectare. The lower density housing is positioned on the outskirts of the village and adjacent to the new village park.
