Private garden

Bavel

A new garden in a new neighbourhood of Bavel is located at the edge of an existing pine wood. The modern design of the house, with plenty of windows, provides a spectacular outside view. However, this does cause a challenge when it comes to having outsiders look into the house. The privacy problem was solved through a clever composition of linear hedges, that still permit a view of the forest from the house.

The pavement of the garden shares the same colour as the house: alternating concrete grey stripes and tiles. The same pattern is used for the layout of hedges and lower flourishing perennials. The introduction of a large mature pine tree is an extension of the neighbouring woodland characteristics into the garden. The comfortable, shaded terrace located beneath the pine tree enhances the relaxed environment.
