Last month, the first roof gardens of the first phase of the new Erasmus Medical Centre in Rotterdam have been completed. This phase consists of two moss-sedum gardens on the roof of the 10th floor, a flower garden on the 9th, and a gravel garden on the roof of the second floor.
In the second phase of the roofgardens will be realized when the second part of the hospital is built, which will be around 2016. The completion of this phase includes two moss-sedum roof gardens combined with a gravel pattern and two large orchards (apple and pear). The gardens will be accessible for patients and employees.
